Our Story
Bubalou is a mash up of nicknames.
Boo. Buba. LouLou. Booboo. Bubawuba. Baba. Boolies. The list goes on...
Those who imagined our cooperative network used similar terms for their beloved non-human bestie. Each was an expression of care, love, and responsibility.
We thought that was a good way to represent our intentions: a responsibility of care for the caretakers, and a privilege to partner with those who do beloved work in their communities.
Founder and Principal Bryna Lipper’s bestie is Finn, aka Bubalou. He’s the mascot of this adventure and a rescue from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee.
Bryna (with Finn’s help) partners with experienced, values-aligned strategists, coaches, and technical experts in a cooperative network. In turn, this network can extend flexible, affordable expertise to local leaders without burdensome or costly consulting arrangements. This cooperative approach allows us to best serve those on the front lines, the community caretakers, the stewards of local ecologies: we are here for you, who do, Bubalous.
